Transformation

Work 2

In our previous post we talked about being in a one way or two way relationship. Being in a one way relationship drains you because you are doing all the work with nothing in return and eventually you will get tired and call it done, and once you stop the other person will one day say I have not heard from you or seen you in awhile, and the sad part is that person do not realize that it has been a one way relationship all along.

In a two way relationship it works so smooth, both sides are interested in the other. you can learn from each other, bounce ideas off each other, fellowship with one another. you build trust in a two way relationship. In this day and time it is hard to have that type of two way relationship because everyone is all about—what’s in it for me thinking.

When you meet someone for the first time you just don’t get there name and that is it, you make small talk with that person, you discuss work, children, marital status etc. then you may exchange contact information to keep in touch with that person, then you find out what kind of things they like and see if y’all have something in common and the relationship grows from there.

God is wanting to have that two way relationship with you, he wants to teach you, give you ideas, fellowship with you, and trust you. I personally can admit that in a relationship with God you learn so much about who he is. In a relationship we have to take time to get to know one another. How do we get to know God? glad you ask, we get to know him by reading his word and spending time in prayer. the more time you spend with him the more he will talk to you and reveal things to you.

In the book of Genesis Adam had a awesome relationship with God, I can’t imagine the fellowship they had with one another,in the cool of the day just walking or sitting around the lake chillin talking to God and this happening on a daily basis. We have so many distracts in our life on a daily basis to have that type of fellowship with God, but if we just make time everyday to spend with God what a difference it will make. I personally like to spend the early mornings with God to begin my day, it helps me with my attitude and I have what ever scripture or what God shared with me to meditate on during the day.

I want to encourage you today to make time to build this relationship with God, is not going to be easy, it is going to take commitment and  discipline, but I guarantee you that once you begin it will become so natural for to you spend that time with God. If we can spend time for a nail tech to do our nail and a beautician to do our hair on a weekly basis and wait in line for football tickets/new cell phone/new video game,  we can definitely spend time with God. Make time today to begin this awesome relationship.

In our next post we will be discussing “Trust”.
