During the last quarter of each year, we celebrate Thanksgiving & Christmas.Thanksgiving we give thanks for all our family, friends and what God has provided for us. Christmas we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
Thanksgiving & Christmas bring out the best and worst in people, some become more giving, some remain the same & some become more rude & selfish.
During Christmas time growing up I was always excited about Christmas I love to decorate the tree and house with my parents. Christmas is still my favorite holiday, I still love to decorate for Christmas with my kids, and now that I understand the true meaning of Christmas it is even more special.
The story of Jesus can be read in the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John…This one story told 4 different times from 4 different perspective. God loved us enough to give us his son, to provide a way of salvation. Christmas should not be about us or the latest toy, Christmas is actually about Christ and the wonder gift God gave the world.
During this season as we are out shopping, cooking, fellowshipping with family and friends, let’s not forget that during this season it is about Christ, it’s his birthday.
Don’t be rude & selfish this season, instead smile and being giving, you don’t always have to give money, just give a card, or a little trinket that would make someone’s day.
God gave you the best gift….Jesus!
