Proverbs 18:13
To answer before listening–that is folly and shame. (NIV—–New International version)
Answering before listening is both stupid and rude. (MSG—–The Message Bible)
What a shame-yes, how stupid to decide before knowing the facts (TLB–The Living Bible)
Have you ever accused someone based upon limited knowledge or facts? It’s always embarrassing to be told you were wrong and presented with the facts.
There are three basic principles for making sound decisions………
- get all the facts before answering
- be open to receive new ideas
- make sure you hear both sides of the story before making a decision.
All three principles center around seeking additional information. Don’t judge before getting all the facts.
