So what is faith?

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of thing not seen.
The dictionary says
Faith is complete trust or confidence in someone or something
Let’s talk about Peter in Matthew 14:22-36
When we read or hear this story of Peter we only hear that Jesus walked on water and how Peter walked on water, let’s look at this another way, the faith way.
A brief overview of the story: Jesus sent the disciples ahead of him while he finished up with the crowd of people and to go and pray, while the disciples were on they way across the sea a storm was happen in the midst of the sea, not sure how far they got from the shore but it must have been pretty far to be in the midst of the sea, and they saw someone walking toward them unsure who and what it was, Jesus spoke and said be not afraid, it is I, Peter said Lord if that is you bid me to come, and Jesus said come.
Let’s talk about Peter’s point of view, everyone on the boat was afraid of what they saw coming toward them in the sea until they found out who it was, so what was Peter thinking, I think he was testing Jesus to prove it was him walking toward them, but it took faith to step off the boat and begin to walk toward Jesus, but Peter got distracted and didn’t stay focus so his faith didn’t keep him and because he got distracted he had to ask for help and Jesus help him up and they both walked back to the boat.
Let’s bring this to our current time, We have enough faith to begin a project, business, etc but we get distracted with the winds that blow our way (those negative words from friends & family, no immediate results, etc) we have to ask ourselves, When I get distracted, Am I willing to ask for help? Why would you ask for help, your help will get you back focused to keep moving forward.
Faith is being focused and keep moving forward. Don’t look back and don’t focus on the distractions.
Are you willing to avoid the distractions? Do you have the faith to continue?
